Merkato LLC operates the BHQ platform for building service contractors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly, including:

• Name, email address, and contact information
• Phone number (when you opt in to SMS notifications, or when an administrator invites you to their account — see Section 4)
• Organization and tenant information
• Usage data and interaction logs

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our platform
• Send transactional notifications (email and SMS)
• Manage your account and tenant access
• Respond to your requests and support inquiries

4. SMS Communications

BHQ sends transactional text messages only. We send no marketing or promotional messages by SMS, and we never sell or share mobile numbers with third parties for their own marketing.

How we obtain your consent

There are two ways a mobile number reaches BHQ, and both require your agreement before any message is sent:

• Workforce invitations. An administrator at the business you work for enters your mobile number in BHQ to invite you to their account, and confirms at that point that you have agreed to receive a text message from BHQ. You then receive a single message containing a one-time link used to sign in and accept the invitation. If you did not agree to receive it, reply STOP and tell your administrator; no further messages are sent.
• Account notifications. You provide your mobile number in your own account settings and enable SMS notifications there. You may disable them at any time in the same place.

What we send

Workforce invitation and sign-in links, account activity, order updates, and other operational notifications relating to the account you belong to. Message frequency varies and depends on your account activity; most people receive a small number of messages. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out and getting help

You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message or updating your notification preferences in your account settings. After you reply STOP we send no further text messages to that number. For help, reply HELP or contact us at the information below. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g., email delivery, SMS messaging), subject to confidentiality obligations.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
